Archos has just announced a new product, the ArcBook, an unusual type of product for this company. This is a 10.1 inch netbook, with a full QWERTY keyboard and Android as the OS. The device is expected to debut next month in stores with an affordable price tag.
It will run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and it will be priced at 149.99 euros. Archos ArcBook will feature a microSD card slot, 8 GB of storage, a front camera, a full size USB OTG port and an 8000 mAh battery. Archos promises over 9 hours of productivity from this battery and the device comes with Google certification and ships with the Office Suite Pro 6 premium version on board.
The ArcBook has a basic low end configuration, with a dual core Rockchip RK3168 processor and a low resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. Don’t expect too much gaming here, but rather a web and social experience, plus maybe some Office action at a basic level.
