Archos has become over the past years the company with the most diverse slates. They have a gaming tablet, a tablet for kids, they covered all the diagonals possible and now they’re venturing into Retina territory. This French company recently unveiled the Archos 97 Titanium HD tablet, with Retina Display.
This sleek white slab incorporates a 9.7 inch 2,048 x 1,536 pixel IPS screen and under the hood it has a 1.6 GHz dual core A9 processor. There’s also 1 GB of RAM on board, 8 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and a 5 megapixel camera at the back. To that we add Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and sadly we have no idea what the price and launch date of this model will be. This is a WiFi only model for now, one that also sports a 2 megapixel front camera and a quad core GPU (Mali 400 MP4).
It will be bundled with OfficeSuite viewer and it weighs 640 grams, while measuring 9 mm in waistline. Archos 97 Titanium HD has an aluminum case and it easily supports 1080p video playback, in a variety of formats. Curiously, HDMI is lacking from it and we also would like some info about the battery, since the screen can be quite the power eater…
