After yesterday’s release of new MacBook Pro models, the leak floodgates are open and reputed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo unveiled a real stampede of novelty onto us. No longer with KGI Securities, the analyst remains as prolific and visionary as ever over at TF International Securities. Let’s see the Fall 2018 roadmap he predicted.
We’re not going to focus on iPhones, Apple Watches or others, just tablets and PCs. So, the main thing that interests us is the iPad Pro model with Face ID and no Home button. Is have an updated 12.9 inch screen probably with a notch and also there’s a brand new 11 inch iPad. I imagine there will be more RAM inside, the latest Apple Axx CPUs and some camera bumps. It’s supposed to replace the 10.5 inch model.
The quantity of Apple Pencil patents this year and the fact Samsung is bringing a new S-Pen may also mean we’re about to see an Apple Pencil 2.0. Kuo predicts new Macs too, with improved CPUs, plus new MacBook models, an iMac with a seriously bumped up screen and a surprising product: a low price notebook. It’s not going to be a MacBook Air, but it could be “Air-ish”.
Apple is also scheduled to go full scale with AirPower and updated AirPods production. If all of these are real, we’re looking at a very wide gamut of tablets to pick from: 7.9 inch, 9.7 inch, 11 inch and 12.9 inch iPads, not to forget the 10.5 inch one. In spite of diagonal hikes, the bodies are expected to be compact and bezels narrow. Ming-Chi Kuo is usually spot on with rumors and we expect him to be right again.
I should highlight that the new Apple Pencil is my own prediction and not Kuo’s.
