The Internet has been abuzz over the past few days with info and leaks about a gaming tablet… or more. Some may think we’re dealing with a new segment, but it’s been present for years now. For example Acer had a Predator tablet about 4 years ago, maybe more. Huawei also had a M6 Turbo slate, with gaming features. Now there’s a new one…

The thing is that the source, Digital Chat Station only has info about an unnamed device. What we do learn from the source is that the device will come with a Snapdragon 8xx processor, 100W fast charging and a 120 or 144 Hz refresh rate. That happens on an IPS LCD panel. Also, the device will have 100W fast charging. This totally smells like Xiaomi for me, especially since the Mi Pad 5 leaked with a Snapdragon 860/870 CPU. Or it could be the recently teased Realme Pad, even though Realme is new in the gaming biz, only having the Realme GT 5G under its belt.

On the other hand, Xiaomi has about 6 gaming phones in the Black Shark brand. Also, Vivo patented a Vivo Tab/ Vivo Pad tablet and they also have an iQOO brand filled with gaming phones. ZTE also has the Nubia brand, but they’ve steered clear from tablets for a while now. It may also be Samsung, but they’re more likely to wait on an Exynos with an AMD GPU, instead of using a Snapdragon. It could also be Lenovo or Motorola, or even Oppo with its newly found enthusiasm after gobbling up OnePlus.
