Alcatel has just announced two new tablets pertaining to the midrange segment. The new models are the Alcatel Pop 7 and Pop 8, that are pictured below. These are 7 inch and 8 inch models, as shown by the naming pattern.
These are decent midrange offerings, with cellular connectivity and yet unknown prices. The Pop 7 packs a 7 inch TFT display with a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution and Android 4.2 as the OS. This model also has a 1.3 GHz dual core processor, a front 0.3 megapixel camera and a 2 megapixel rear shooter, with the ability to do 720p video capture.
It also comes with 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and a 3240 mAh battery. The Pop 8 model relies on an 8 inch screen with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and keeps the bulk of the Pop 7 specs, including the storage, cameras, RAM and microSD. It also replaces the dual core CPU with a quad core one. Both models will come with magnetic flip covers and snap cases.
