It’s not only Samsung that’s celebrating the Olympics with a special Edition Galaxy Note and the Galaxy S III official phone of the event, but also Acer. This company usually celebrates Olympic Games with custom gizmos and this is also the case of the Iconia Tab A510 Olympic Tab, launching in UK next month.
The tablet was shown in a special festive version this April and only now it comes to Great Britain. The Inquirer is saying that the product will be available on Carphone Warehouse in June and it will keep the same specs as the original Iconia Tab A510. That includes a 10.1 inch IPS display, Android 4.0 ICS and a quad core Tegra 3 CPU at 1.3 GHz. At the back we have a 5 megapixel camera and onboard 32GB of storage. What separates this version from the regular one is an engraving of the 5 Olympics rings.
Acer will also preload a trial of Eurosport channels, for users to get full coverage of the sport event during the Olympics. The tablet will be priced at about $552 without a SIM. I guess that we’ll see a lot of these devices being offered to athletes during the competitions.
