In about a week and a bit get ready to have your tablet upgraded, provided that you own an Acer Iconia 500 model and the A100 model. The Android 4.0 ICS update will come on April 27 and it will bring the slates up to Android 4.0.X. Acer Iconia Tab A100 owners in the USA will get the update on the 27th, while people in Canada will get it on the fifth of May.
Latin America will get it on the 25th of April, while the A200 has already received Android 4.0, according to the Acer site. And finally the A500 will get the update on the 27th all over the world. No info about any updates on the A501 model just yet. As usual you’ll see a pop up windows on your tablet notifying you of a new firmware update and you’ll tap it and then Download Now. In case you don’t get the pop up in about 10 days, you need to tap Apps on the top right of the screen, scroll left to the second screen and then tap the Settings icon.
On the bottom left of the screen you’ll click the About tablet option, tap system update and Check Now. With Android 4.0 you’ll get a new UI on the device, new looks for icons, widgets and apps menu, better stability, better camera UI and speed and a lot more improvements.
