Asus DR-950 is the Eee series maker’s second e-reader that surfaced recently and a very hot rival for Kindle DX. The device sports a black and white display, a 9 inch touchscreen and a very slim case, that’s only 9mm thick. DR-950 weighs a mere 370 grams and we learn that its screen supports a 1024 x 768 pixel resolution.

The software provides RSS feeds, translation and text to speech functionality, while the device also packs a 2 or 4GB of internal memory and an SD slot. WiFi and HSDPA (maybe even WiMAX) are also on the specs list, an USB port as well and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Asus DR-950 supports PDF, TXT, ePub, Audible, MP3, JPEG, GIF, HTML, BMP and PNG file formats, so it’s a pretty useful media tool to carry around. The price is a mystery for now.
