Lenovo IdeaPad K1 is a Honeycomb tablet we’ve been waiting for, especially since it has a reasonable price: $499.99. This model just popped up on Amazon, where it’s available for pre-order, if you’re interested. No shipping date was mentioned sadly…
The US specs are confirmed and they include the classic Tegra 2 1GHz CPU, a 10.1 inch 1280 x 800 display and micro HDMI output. The display supports 300 nits of light and 10 point multitouch, while the entire device weighs 1.65 pounds and measures 0.52 inches in thickness. Supposedly, this model features 32GB of internal memory and we also get a SIM card slot in there, although nobody mentioned 3G/4G among the specs.
Lenovo customized the device with the Social Touch UI, making Facebook and Twitter interaction easier, while using Android Honeycomb. As far as cameras go, there’s a 5MP unit at the back and a 2MP unit at the front, for videocalls. Last we heard, the IdeaPad K1 was coming in late June or early July, so I guess the second version applies now.
