Yesterday Huawei held a pretty big event, meant to debut the Huawei Mate Xs 2 foldable phone, but they also unveiled a new tablet in China. It’s dubbed the Huawei MatePad SE and it’s a 10.1 inch slate with Harmony OS 2.0 on board.
The Huawei MatePad SE packs a 10.1 inch IPS LCD display with Full HD resolution, better said 1920 x 1200 pixels. It has pretty thick bezels around the screen and brings an 80% screen to body ratio. It measures 7.85 mm in thickness and weighs around 450 grams. There’s 4 GB of RAM on board, 128 GB of storage and the product is meant for a younger audience, rather than adults. It includes a Kids area and a learning center, indicating this.
It also packs a 5100 mAh battery which promises a rather large battery life. Harman Kardon acoustics are on board as well, with Huawei Histen 7.0 sound effects. The device comes in two versions: Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi plus LTE. As far as the camera specs are concerned, it brings a primary 5 MP camera and a 2 MP front camera for selfies and video calls. There’s also Dark Mode, eBook Mode and Super Device, letting you connect to a whole Huawei ecosystem.
We also have expandable storage, OTG support and Bluetooth 5.1. Available just in dark blue, the Huawei MatePad SE is priced starting at $226 for the Wi-Fi version and $256 for the 5G one.
