It seems to me we’ve been writing about the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 a bit more than the iPad Mini 6 or many other upcoming tablets. At least today we have a good reason to do so, as the device has just leaked online. We get to see it in live pictures and also learn more about its specs.
The design shown here resembles the iPad Pro, particularly in the camera area. Another report reveals that the device will come with MIUI 12.5 out of the box. Judging by the leaked picture, the device will be slim and it’ll also offer a pearl-like gradient for the back side. We expect the slate to be made of glass and metal and have a rather small footprint, in spite of the 10-11-12 inch diagonal.
A rumored August launch date appears again, together with specs, such as a 10.95 inch IPS LCD display with Quad HD resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate, which sounds like it’s taken straight from the Huawei MatePad 11. We also get a 8720 mAh battery with 67W fast charge support and a main 48 MP camera. There should even be a side placed fingerprint scanner.
Mi Pad 5 measures 8.1 mm in thickness and weighs 510 grams. There will also be a second version with the same CPU, but only a Wi-Fi setup, 12 MP back camera and 67W charging. The third model has a Snapdragon 860 CPU, 2K Display, 33W charging and 12 MP camera. A fourth model has a Snapdragon 768G processor on board and we could also see a fifth with a Snapdragon 888 CPU and 12.9 inch screen.
