Microsoft launched a new keyboard cover for the Surface Pro tablet, the $160 Signature Type Cover, that comes in two tone gray Alcantara fabric. Previous versions for the slate were Type Cover priced at $130, or the one with a fingerprint scanner at $160.
The new cover doesn’t bring extra features, but it’s made to look a bit more elegant and professional than other accessories. To confirm the fashionable approach is the place of the unveiling of the product: Milano Design Week, where the Signature Type Cover was showcased. Microsoft claims it takes 3 weeks to product each cover using the special Italian fabric.
The accessory weighs 10 ounces and measures 0.2 inch in thickness, so it’s about the same size as the Surface Type Cover, but a bit lighter. Signature Edition is compatible with Surface Pro 3 and Pro 4 tablets, plus it brings a full QWERTY keyboard and magnets to attach to the slate.
