Supply chain sources are claiming that Apple intends to unveil new iPad Air models in March and that production will start in Q2. Obviously, they’re talking about the iPad Air 3 and some extra juicy gossip about the device surface today.
Turns out that the 9.7 inch slate will come with a 4K screen panel and up to 4 GB of RAM, as well as improved battery life. General Interface Solution and TPK Holding will supply the touch panels, according to Taiwanese supply chain makers. These makers announced that they expect a slight on-year increase in demand for touch panel products from Apple in the first half of 2016.
And that’s because of the orders for products packing 3D Touch technology, which may or may not arrive on the iPad Air 3. The device is also said to sport a rear facing LED flash for its main camera and may even bring those quad speakers from the iPad Pro.
