KD Interactive has just launched a new kid-friendly tablet, the Kurio Xtreme 2 model, that’s both resilient and low priced. Available for $129, this model runs Android 5.0 Lollipop and it’s made for rougher interactions and drops from the little ones.
Specs are modest here, including a 7 inch 1024 x 600 pixel display, with 5 point touch, as well as a quad core MediaTek MTK8127 processor and 1 GB of RAM. There’s also 16 GB of storage, a microSD card slot, 2.1 MP back camera and front 0.3 MP shooter. A 2820 mAh battery powers up the unit and we’ve got micro HDMI also thrown in, if you want to connect the slate to a TV.
Kurio Xtreme 2 has a built in kickstand and comes bundled with 18 Kurio Motion 2.0 games, that involve motion tracking, which will make the kids get some exercise. Other apps and services offered here are Spotify, YouTube Kids, Toon Goggles, Netflix, Skype and even a kid-friendly email app. Websites can be filtered on this device and there’s a Kurio Guard filter applied for inappropriate content.
