Lenovo recently announced that it plans on getting into the enterprise slate segment, one that already looks like it will be ruled by RIM’s BlackBerry PlayBook. The HP Slate or Palm Pad will probably enter the same area, but Lenovo already has the expertise on its side, thanks to the Thinkpad series, that includes the X series of convertible laptops.

Lenovo’s business tablet will be called LePad and it’ll be based on Android. Also it’ll be launched in the Far East by the end of the year, according to its maker, but the bad news is that this product might take a while to reach Europe and the States. If Lenovo wants business, they might want to focus on some other OS than Android… Windows 7? Maybe MeeGo?
