After appearing on quite a bunch of promising handsets, Android lands on a home device dubbed Vega, that’s kitchen-friendly and pretty original. The product was introduced by UK and Seattle-based Innovative Converged Devices (ICD), an engineering company.
Vega is an in-home device, with a pretty large touchscreen display, a low price tag and lots of connectivity options. You can consider this a hybrid between a smartphone and a PC, packing 512MB of basic memory, support for HD entertainment, 3G connectivity, a Tegra CPU and full media streaming.
Expect the product to be detailed, released and demoed at the 2010 International CES Show (January 7-10). It runs Android Eclair, supports automatic software updates and a touch interface. The device should be available in 3 different size options: 7 inch, 11 inch and 15 inch.
