The folks of EE have already unveiled a 4G smartphone and now they’re at it again, launching a tablet with 4G. This UK operator has launched a brand new 8 inch slate, that’s called the Eagle and costs 199 quid.
The product’s price applies with a pay as you go tariff or 49.99 quid if you sign up for a 15 quid monthly pay plan. This product packs a 1280 x 800 pixel display, a 1.6 GHz quad core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage and a 5 megapixel camera. This means the specs are similar to the Tesco Hudl, a local rival product in the UK.
That slate costs 119 quid and has already got sales of half a million units in the UK. EE Eagle has the extra advantage of 4G connectivity, delivering network speeds of up to 60 Mbps. EE is also offering the Buzzard, a 50 pound plug and play 4G MiFi accessory designed for the car. By the way, I think I know what tablet EE used here for rebranding: a Chinese model that copies the design of the HTC One… I’ve seen it before!
