Today, after a long period of waiting and teasing the first 2K smartphone debuted officially. We could say it’s actually a phablet, considering its diagonal is 5.7 inches. The device supports a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution and offers a pixel density of 490 ppi.
This is the world’s first Quad HD screen device and it packs some impressive specs. those include a fast Snapdragon 800 CPU, with 4 Krait 400 cores and up to 2.3 GHz in clock speed. There’s also the Adreno 330 GPU, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage, stereo speakers and DTS sound. LTE is here as well, plus a 13 megapixel back camera with F/1.8 aperture and Full HD video capture.
Vivo also included a fingerprint scanner at the back and the entire device is able to measure a crazy 4.5 mm in its thinnest part, probably around the area of the tapered edges. Vivo Xplay 3S packs a 3200 mAh battery, that should be drained quite a bit by the 2K display. Probably the most interesting aspect here is that the phablet is actually gorgeous and seems to adopt an edge to edge screen.
No idea what the price will be.
