If you thought that Dell’s tablets with Windows 8 were cheap, well Lenovo has a fresh alternative. They’ve just unveiled the 10.1 inch model called Miix, a multi mode Windows 8 tablet for everyone.
Probably launched over the past hours to steal some spotlight from Samsung’s new ATIV models, this device comes with a 10.1 inch 1366 x 768 pixel display and a dual core Intel Atom processor, plus Windows 8. The slate’s multi mode functioning allows the user to work on this product as both a tablet and a laptop.
The Lenovo Miix features a quick flip detachable folio keyboard case, that switches from laptop mode to tablet very fast. Specs include 64 GB of storage, a microSD card slot, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi and optional 3G GPS connectivity. The product weighs 1.2 pounds and measures less than half an inch in thickness. Its battery is meant to run for about 10 hours.
As mentioned in the title, this model is very affordable, at $500.
