It was a big deal at some point to create a quad core tablet with affordable price tag and then came the trend of the Retina Display budget tablets. Now we’re waiting for cheap 8 core slates, but before that comes we have yet another Retina Display budget model to show: the Ekoore Lucid.

This is a device that’s priced at less than 250 euros and it has pretty good specs. It measures 9.6 mm in thickness and has a 9.7 inch diagonal. It supports a 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution and it also has a 10 inch version with an IPS panel, but that one drops the res to 1280 x 800 pixels. The exact same resolution and panel are available on a 7 inch version of the same slate.

Inside this gizmo we find the brand new quad core AllWinner A31 processor, that supports video of up to 4096 x 2304 pixel resolution and 30 FPS. The CPU is accompanied by 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage, as well as a microSD card slot. The Ekoore Lucid will feature 2 cameras: one at the back with 5 MP sensor and a front 1.3 MP one. There’s also HDMI on board WiFi, Bluetooth and an 8000 mAh battery, good enough for 10 hours of use supposedly.

The device will come in April and it’s priced at 169.90 euro for the 7 inch version, 219.90 euro for the 10 inch one and 239.90 for the 9.7 inch Retina model.
