The folks of WPCentral had the opportunity of attending PepCom, a tech event that happened in New York and found out more details about a new Lenovo tablet with Windows 8. I’m talking about the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 with a keyboard included and a price tag of $799. This is a 10.1 inch tablet with a 1366 x 768 pixel display.
Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 relies on Windows 8 Pro and offers a 10 hour battery life, plus it comes with an 8 megapixel/2 megapixel camera combo, NFC, AT&T LTE and USB ports. It even throws in a stylus and if the quality of the Android ThinkPad from last year was any indication, the stylus should be good. The product will launch on October 26th, when Windows 8 and its avalanche of tablets debut. The price tag will be $799 with keyboard included, after previous rumors that the product would cost between $600 and $700.
Aside from the keyboard, the slate also includes the full Office 2013 suite, but we can’t promise it also includes the optional dock with Ethernet port that people are hoping to get. The same dock has 3 USB ports and HDMI out. Maybe without a keyboard the ThinkPad Tablet 2 will reach as low as $600, who knows? This model is more of an enterprise affair, so its price can’t be associated with consumer products with Windows 8. Another thing worth mentioning is the presence of an Intel Clover Trial 1.8 GHz CPU on board.
