Acer’s Iconia Tab A510 and A511, its 3G version will be delayed indefinitely, although the first went on sale in April. It’s all because of some faulty component apparently. In case you’re wondering, the A700 model is still on track for a mid June launch, provided that you want a 1080p slate made by Acer.

The info comes from Acer Germany saying that the Acer Iconia Tab A510 and its 3G version, the A511 are plagued by a component issue, although the official source didn’t specify which component. For those unfamiliar with these products, the A510 is priced at $450, so it’s a pretty reasonable quad core 10 inch tablet, with 32GB of storage and Android 4.0. The device also has a mini HDMI port, a microSD card slot and sealed SIM Card slot hidden under a flap.

There’s no full size USB port, like the A500 model had, but instead Acer included a micro USB to USB dongle bundled with the product. Anyway, you may also want to look out for the ASUS Transformer Pad 300, that offers pretty much the same specs, but with a more appealing package and price. Maybe you’ll find the A700 model more tempting if you just MUST have Acer gear…
