Mobile World Congress 2012 starts tomorrow and among the companies present in Barcelona there’s also Qualcomm, that has promised to showcase a glasses free 3D tablet. Master Image 3D has the technology behind this project and wants to showcase it on a Mobile Development Platform (MDP) in Spain.

Our editor sent in Barcelona will be available to get hands on quality time with this device and many more in the following days. The MDP Tablet 3D Edition at MWC will be shown on Monday and it appears that the device will rely on a Snapdragon S4 processor and feature a 10.1 inch display with a WUXGA resolution of 1920 x 1200. Masterimage 3D’s Cell Matrix Parallax Barrier technology is also in the mix. The demo will also include the Qualcomm 2D to 3D conversion technology, that allows for real time 3D to stereoscopic 3D conversion of videos and games.

The reference design runs Android 4.0 and gets 3D animated comics from Jump Creative. Qualcomm is also expected to announce a new generation of CPUs that will most likely power the new Android dual core handsets that still get launched before quad core becomes the norm.
