Binatone Homesurf 8 is a tablet model I haven’t heard off till now, but it seems to be in Comet’s latest offer. The British retailer makes you pay $118 for this slate, that packs an 8 inch resistive touchscreen with WVGA resolution and runs the antique Android 1.6.

We’re hoping for this model to get an Eclair or Froyo update, soon, else it will be totally less appealing than it’s now. Apparently, this model could be ideal for a child, to get him started in the tablet world, with a lower spec unit and then let him move on to the iPad. Nothing beats training on a resistive touchscreen, right?

Let’s just hope for that upgrade or at least Android Market support, if possible.
