When we told you that EVERY big company is trying to get a piece of the tablet pie, we were right… Now that Cisco is in the game, it’s no wonder that a German ISP is making a slate device. We’re talking about 1&1’s product, the SmartPad 7 inch tablet running Android 1.6. It’ll receive Android 2.2 at some point and it comes with inbuilt WiFi and an optional 3G module.
The final specifications haven’t been decided just yet, but we know the SmartPad will include an SD card reader, an USB socket, a 500 MHz ARM11 CPU and 256MB of RAM. There’s also a proprietary app store coming and a promotional video to detail the unit below:
