The 7 inch Amazon Fire tablet seems to have been a big Black Friday hit, judging by the receipts data that was collected by Info Scout. They make a series of apps that allow users to take photos of receipts and manage sales.
The 8 GB version of the Fire Tablet was the best selling item by both units and sales volume on Amazon.com. That happened on Thanksgiving night and on Black Friday and believe it or not it was also the top seller by unit sales at Best Buy. This is important to mention because the iPad was the Black Friday top seller for the past 2 years.
Announced last September, Amazon Fire Tablet stands out through a $50 price tag, but Amazon and Best Buy both discounted it till $35. The slate has a quad core 1.3 GHz processor, a 7 inch screen, back and front cameras and 8 GB of internal storage, that can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD. Info Scout analyzed 151,337 receipts reported on Thanksgiving night and Black Friday. PS4 consoles and Samsung LED Smart TVs were also hot sellers, together with Beats By Dre 2 Solo headphones.
