The 32 GB version of the Nexus 7 has been quite often in the rumors over the past days and now it’s back again, with an interesting theory. Turns out that this model could actually replace the 16 GB Nexus 7 and keep the same price, maybe. Just yesterday a lucky Japanese customer got a 32 GB Nexus 7 instead of the 16 GB unit he ordered, so it may be possible for all of you future shoppers to get that, but not by mistake.
The confirmation of the 16 GB unit’s replacement with the 32 GB is achieved through a new image sent to Phandroid by an insider. The image can be seen above and the insider is said to be working for a reseller, whose listing claims that the 32 GB Nexus 7 will replace the 16 GB unit. If you add into the equation the 32 GB unit in Japan, everything becomes clear. The thing is that Google has yet to confirm the 32 GB Nexus 7, so we can’t jump to conclusions at this point.
Seeing that the holiday season is coming up, Google has to pull out something special from the hat, seeing that they compete with the Amazon Kindle Fire HD now, both versions and supposedly they’ll also have to fight off the iPad Mini. And now we have to wait and see if the rumors about the $99 Nexus tablet were real as well…
