In case you didn’t know, there’s a company called Elitegroup Computer Systems aka ECS from Taiwan, that manufactures tablets, among others and they have a brand new 12 inch slate out there, with Windows in the mix and a Full HD screen. The device has just been certified by the FCC and it’s known as the ECS mPad tablet.

It brings a 12 inch screen and stylus support and it has all the chances of reaching USA under a different name. The product seems more business oriented and not exactly a commercial unit. Usually ECS makes devices for other companies, to be sold under their own branding. So, the 12 inch mPad comes with a Full HD IPS LCD panel and relies on an Intel Atom x5-Z8550 Cherry Trail processor.

It provides WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac connectivity, as well as Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and NFC, but wait… there’s more! It has a microUSB 3.0 Type B port, which you don’t see on slates or phones every day and finally it comes with stereo 1 watt speakers. There’s a docking port in the mix and strangely it also has a solid 8 MP back camera and a 12,600 mAh battery.

Variations of the specs are huge, going from 2 GB of RAM to 8 GB of RAM and from 32 GB to 64 GB of storage. An active digitizer has been included for the sake of stylus interaction and this whole thing measures 0.6 inches in thickness and weighs 2.3 pounds.
