Meanwhile, the more business-focused PC tablets will reach a mere 88.8 million shipped units in the same time frame.

This means that 10 times more media tablets will be shipped in comparison to the tablet PCs. The sales figure will reach 45.2 million PC tablets in 2015 alone, growing annually with 81.5% from 2.3 million units in 2010. Meanwhile, while the media tablets sold 17.4 million units in 2010, the number will be 262.1 million units by 2015, certainly an impressive growth.

The need for both formats of the product is great, but with the iPad being the hit that it is, it’s easy for other product makers to follow the same line.
