Xiaomi held a big event on April 18th, one meant to showcase the prowess of the new flagship, Xiaomi 13 Ultra. They also debuted the Band 8 fitness tracker, plus two tables: Xiaomi Pad 6 and Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro. We’ll detail them below.
The new devices have both elements in common, but also elements that differentiate them. We start off with the 11 inch IPS LCD screens with 2880 x 1800 pixel resolution. There’s also a 144 Hz refresh rate, which is trendy now among new tablets, like the OPPO, OnePlus and Vivo newcomers. Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, while the Pad 6 opts for a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor.
They also run on MIUI Pad 14, based on Android 13. Xiaomi Pad 6 brings an 8600 mAh battery, with 67W charging, while the Pad 6 opts for a larger 8840 mAh battery, but with slower charging, at 33W. The biggest differences are probably the cameras: 50 MP + 2 MP on the Pad 6 Pro and a 20 MP front shooter, while the regular Pad 6 has a 13 MP and 8 MP combo (back and front).
Both models have quad speakers and Dolby Atmos. Xiaomi also debuted a brand new keyboard case and as second gen smart pen accessory, with lower input latency. It also has 100+ hours of battery life and improved water resilience.
Price and availability
Xiaomi Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro will be available in black, blue and champagne gold. The regular Pad 6 starts at $291, for the version with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The 8 GB/128 GB version is $305. Extra storage and RAM bumps up the price to $392 and $480 on the Pro.
