Toshiba’s 13 inch tablet was showcased this week and probably the most interesting aspect about it was that retractable TV antenna. Toshiba AT330 is the model I’m talking about and if you wonder how big the 13 incher really is, you have below a comparison shot with a few other slates.
The guys from Techblog have come up with these images, that reveal how big the newcomer is. It’s compared in the photos with a Toshiba Excite 10 LE and a Toshiba AT270, that are 10 inch and 7 inch in diagonal respectively. Some people consider 10 inches too much for a tablet, so imagine their reaction when they see a 13 inch tablet. Meanwhile, Samsung is considering a 11.6 inch display unit of this kind, so the sky’s the limit, right? Since this model has TV capabilities, I can’t help but think it will be an Asia affair only, since television functions on gadgets are a trait of Asian gadgets.
This model comes with a quad core Tegra 3 processor, Android 4.0.1, 32 GB of internal memory, a 13 inch 1920 x 1200 pixel display and a 5 megapixel camera at the rear. There’s also a 1.3 MP front camera. I, for one am the most happy with an 8.9 inch tablet and I really feel that’s the perfect format for a portable device that aims at replacing a netbook or laptop. What do you think?
