Toshiba had a field day today announced 3 new tablets, one of which has a price I would dare to call “crazy”. They debuted two Windows models, the Toshiba Encore 2 8 inch version and 10 inch version and the $110 Android slate Excite Go.
The Encore 2 8 inch tablet starts at $200 and the 10 inch one costs $270. Both have pretty much the same specs, including a quad core Intel Atom processor, 1280 x 800 pixel display and in case these sounds familiar, yes, they’re quite similar to the specs of the original 8 inch Encore, priced at $330. The products go on sale in July and they will come with up to 64 GB of internal storage and microSD card slots.
There are stereo speakers on both of them and a micro HDMI port, too, as well as dual cameras. Microsoft Office Suite is also in the mix through a bundled one year Office 365 Personal subscription. Meanwhile, the Toshiba Excite Go retails for $110, offers Android 4.4 KitKat and a quad core Intel Atom processor with up to 8 hours of battery life. It also comes with OfficeSuite Pro preinstalled, 16 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and 1024 x 600 pixel resolution.
