Teclast T98 4G and Teclast X98 Air 3G are two new 9.7 inch tablets from China, that feel like iPad Air rivals, because they have pretty good specs and a similar format. The T98 4G is actually an iPad clone and it comes with an IPS 9.7 inch screen with a 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution.
Inside it we find the MediaTek MT8752T processor, an octa core ARM Cortex A53 unit, with ARM Mali T764 GPU and 2 GB of RAM. There’s also 16 GB of storage, WiFi dual band modules, Bluetooth, GPS and 4G LTE connectivity. The back camera is a surprising 13 megapixel unit, while the front one is a 2 MP shooter. Android 4.4 is most likely the OS here, although that’s not clearly stated.
The product has an incredible price in China, merely 185 euros. Meanwhile, the Teclast X98 3G is similar in design and some of the specs, keeping the very same screen, while it also adds 32 GB of storage, 2 GB of RAM and an Intel Atom Z3736F processor. There’s also an extra mini HDMI port, an 8500 mAh battery and Android 4.4 or Windows 8.1, since we’re not sure about the OS. This unit will be priced between 179 and 196 euros.
