Sony is preparing a nifty discount session for its Xperia Tablet S slate on President’s Day, a celebration that only applies in USA as far as I know. On February 23rd, they’ll be offering the slate with a $109.99 reduction in price. Well, the reduction per se is $50, but there’s also a free $59.99 Casual Cover included, so that’s why the total offer amounts to $109.99.
This means that you can get the Tegra 3 slate in the 16 GB version for $349.99. You should probably know that the Casual Cover is available in 5 different colors, so with the whole kit and everything, the product would normally cost $459. There’s also the option of purchasing the $449.99 32 GB version or the 64 GB tablet for $549.99, with free cover. The specs of the Sony Xperia Tablet S include a 9.4 inch 1280 x 800 pixel screen with a 161 ppi density.
Inside there’s a 1.3 GHz quad core Tegra 3 CPU, with 1 GB of RAM and at the back we have an 8 megapixel camera without flash. Android 4.0.3 is preinstalled and the tablet also brings an IR remote feature, plus a promise for an update to Android 4.1. Well, considering you can get a Nexus 10 for a similar price, honestly this offer doesn’t sound that appealing, especially with the disappointing screen and camera of the tablet, as we found in its review.
