Samsung has decided to ship the Galaxy Tab 10.1 slate with Google Android 3.1, the Honeycomb flavor that took off during this month’s Google I/O event.

This 10 inch device was spotted before, during the same I/O where it was offered in a limited edition to the participants. Android 3.1 brings better hardware acceleration, faster graphics performance, resizable home screen widgets and a better recent apps menu. The latter now shows up to 16 apps and another welcome addition in Honeycomb that we must mention is the USB host capability.

Samsung will ship the tablet on June 8th, but we could see delays, because of the software update.
