At its launch event in China this week, Oppo introduced a new entry-level tablet, the Oppo Pad SE, alongside the Reno14 and Reno14 Pro smartphones. With a starting price of just CNY 899 ($125) — and even lower during pre-sale — the Pad SE is one of the most aggressively priced Android tablets of the year, balancing essential specs with affordability.
OPPO Pad SE features an 11-inch LCD display with a 1920×1200 resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and 180Hz touch sampling, making it surprisingly smooth for a device at this price point. It runs on MediaTek’s Helio G100 chipset, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, depending on the configuration.
Oppo has also packed in a 9,340 mAh battery with support for 33W wired charging, promising long sessions of streaming, browsing, or reading without battery anxiety. On the software side, it ships with ColorOS 15.0.1 based on Android 15, offering an up-to-date experience right out of the box — though with some expected limitations like the lack of a fingerprint scanner (it relies on camera-based face unlock).
In select regions like Malaysia, the Pad SE is being positioned as an all-rounder device for students and young professionals. It includes features like Kids Mode with YouTube Kids controls, eye protection modes, and O+ Connect for easy file sharing between Oppo and iOS devices. Productivity is supported via Multi-Window Display, App Relay, and Multi-Screen Connect, all of which are increasingly common in Oppo’s ecosystem.
Pricing and availability
The Pad SE is available in Starlight Silver and Night Blue colorways. It comes in three memory/storage variants: 6/128GB, 8/128GB, and 8/256GB. The base model starts at CNY 899 ($125), but a limited-time pre-sale knocks that down to CNY 849 ($118). Shipping in China begins on May 23.
