Onyx has finally unveiled a worth rival for the latest Amazon Kindle units, the Boox P6 Pro. The device comes with a Kaleido 3 color E Ink screen and also full 4G support. There are 4096 colors shown here, in the vein of the latest amazon Kindle Colorsoft models.
Boox P6 Pro packs a regular E Ink monochrome panel with the Carta 1300 tech. There’s also a version with the color panel I mentioned above. Both have 6.13 inch diagonals and also pretty large bezels, as e-readers usually have. The color E Ink model also adds a welcome extra: the stylus support. Both models also come with etched glass panels, with 824 x 1684 pixels resolution and automatic brightness adjustment.
There are also stereo speakers in the mix and a single 16 megapixel back camera, reliable for scanning QR codes. The P6 Pro has specs that include an octa core Qualcomm processor, as well as 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. There’s also a microSD card slot, if you want extra storage. The P6 Pro units run on Boox OS 4.1, based on Android 13.
They also have dual band Wi-Fi support and Bluetooth 5. Their 3950 mAh batteries charge at 15W via USB-C. The starting price of the monochrome version is $353 and the color E Ink model is $420.
