In a strange move, Notion Ink went ahead and launched a new tablet, called NIMBX that’s not quite the Adam II. The device has showed up on Indian retail websites and doesn’t look like the Adam II at all.

It has a 10 inch LCD screen and an auxiliary grayscale screen. It runs Android 4.1.1 on top of a dual core 1.5 GHz processor, with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage, as well as a microSD card slot. The usual WiFi and Bluetooth are here, as well as a 2 megapixel front and back camera and the screen is a 10 incher. The resolution is 1280 x 800 pixels and there’s HDMI out on the side, plus a 6Ah battery.

The price tag of the product is about $177 and I have a feeling the product is meant for India only. The design is blocky and squared and the secondary display sounds like an interesting idea. The NIMBX shares some features with the Adam II, like the same screen resolution, CPU, storage and cameras. Will this device be rebranded into Adam II, or is it something different?
