Microsoft recently announced pricing information for its Surface Pro tablet and now they’re offering an extra tidbit of details, this time concerning its battery. According to one of the MS official Twitter accounts, the one linked to Surface, the new device will offer “approximately half the battery life of Surface RT”.
This was expected, since the Pro may come with a big 42.5 Wh battery, but it also has the power consuming Intel CPU and higher resolution Full HD screen. Meanwhile, the Win RT Surface has 31.5 Wh battery but makes good use of it, thanks to the Tegra 3 CPU. Anyway, seeing how the Surface RT got around 8-9 hours of functioning time in various reviews, we expect the Pro version to give you about 4 hours.
The Intel Core i5-based tablet should come out in January and boy will it be a full month, with the likes of CES happening and RIM unveiling BB OS 10.
