Ever wanted to buy an iPad Mini clone? Well, we have here an interesting alternative, the RK3066 model from Shenzhen company Aodini. The device looks like the iPad Mini quite a bit, except for the fact it’s a bit wider. The product comes with a 4 core GPU, 1 GB of memory and 8 GB of storage.
It features an 8 inch display with 1024 x 768 pixel resolution, Android 4.1.1 and a front facing camera, as well as rear camera. HDMI, TF card slot and microUSB port are also here, as well as the ability to decode Full HD video. The Aodini iPad Mini clone also features a dual channel speaker and its case has a nice finish, that should provide great grip and a soft touch feeling when using the slate.
Sadly we have no price for this model, but I’d be surprised if it went past $200 or so. Sadly, the device is not turned on and its dual core CPU’s identity is a mystery, although my bets are on Rockchip, Mediatek or Allwinner for the powering solution. However, nothing surprises me anymore, since I’ve started seeing Asian devices with Exynos CPUs from Samsung lately…
