This was bound to happen… once the Amazon Kindle Fire arrived all tablet makers out there started decreasing prices for their products. The trend was also influenced by the HP TouchPad, that was also going for $100 at some point and if I’m not mistaking you’ll also find the BlackBerry PlayBook at most retailers priced at around $200. Back to the Flyer, we reviewed this slate here and found it to be too pricey at the time.

Now, with the availability of Honeycomb on the HTC Flyer, the tablet is even better and at the price of $199.99 on Buy.com (refurbished), it’s a steal. What you get is a 16GB tablet with a Qualcomm Snapdragon single core 1.5 GHz processor, Android 2.3 (that you’ll update to Honeycomb and a 5 megapixel camera. The device weighs 14.82 oz with battery, offers 1GB of RAM, has a microSD card slot, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0 and 90 days of warranty. Sadly, there’s no stylus bundled here, but you can get one for low prices nowadays.

However, before you take up this hot offer and buy a model, keep in mind that we will soon see yet another brand new tablet from HTC, the Vertex, with a quad core CPU from Nvidia. However, I guess that the price tag for that model will be double when compared to the Flyer…
