Google’s Pixel Tablet was launched in May 2023, at Google I/O 2023 and it came with a bundled charging and speaker dock, but no keyboard and stylus in sight. Now those are coming as well, according to people in the know.

Nowadays it’s very hard to sell a premium tablet without a keyboard and stylus and even midrange and entry level ones have such features. A developer discovered proof in an URL that leads to the latest version of the Pixel Retail demo app (one that locks down devices in retail stores). The URL was found in the “PixelSetupWizardOverlay” APK, which points the Google Setup Wizard app to the location of the latest version of the Retail Demo app during demo device provisioning.

The newest version of the Retail Demo app, which was released on May 21st includes strings that name a “Keyboard for Pixel Tablet”, plus a Pen for Pixel Tablet. There are no images for these accessories and right now no details such as pricing or a release time. Since we can find these strings inside the Google app meant to showcase in the retail stores, it’s clear that Google is brewing something.

Also, in the official specs of the Pixel Tablet we can find support for USI 2.0 stylus pens. Plus Android 14 brought improvements in the stylus and keyboard support. Of course, none of these products could see the light of day, but it’s likely they will.
