Next month is all about CES 2013 and the debut of BlackBerry 10 OS. Then comes MWC 2013 and its ton of launches and then in May we’ll witness the Google I/O 2013 event, scheduled to take place between May 15th and the 17th. It will mark the debut of Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, most likely plus a new device or two.
Thousands of people, especially developers will be attending the event next year, an event that had $1000 tickets this year. The 2012 edition sold out faster than in 2011 and those sold very fast, so be quick if you want a ticket. Reasons to attend I/O? First hands on with the next Android release, a bunch of fresh devices, maybe some new phones, maybe some new tablets. This year brought us very nifty demo of Google Glass, so maybe next year we’ll see a commercial product.
Rumors gravitate around Google TV, Nexus Q, Chrome OS for presentation at the big Google event in May. We’re certainly interesting to see what other novelties Google has in mind, particularly in the tablet area, since the latest Android updates were pretty general and not tablet focused.
