Emdoor is a company that albeit small, it was good enough to make the headlines related to Computex these days. First they had a very affordable slate and now they’ve got one of the first 7 inch Windows 8.1 tablets out there.
The newcomer is the Emdoor Miso, that’s pictured above. This model follows the Toshiba Encore unit with a 7 inch screen unveiled yesterday and the Emdoor Miso looks a lot like the 8 inch Emdoor EM-i8080, but smaller. Its specs include a 7 inch 1280 x 800 pixel IPS display and an Intel Z3735G quad core Bay Trail processor. There’s up to 6 hours of battery life here, courtesy of a 11.1 Whr battery.
Only 1 GB of RAM is available, plus 16 GB of storage and while Emdoor didn’t announce a price tag for this product, it’s expected to cost much less than any Windows tablets from last year or this one. In spite of being prepared to be offered with a low price, the newcomer will bundle a free 1 year subscription to Microsoft Office 365 Personal, so you can use the main Office apps for free for a year.
This model also packs a micro HDMI port, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, Miracast and has a 2 megapixel front and rear camera.
