Datawind is the company behind the lovely Aakash sub $50 tablets in India and now they’re spawned another interesting product, called the Ubislate 3G7. This mystery tablet has reached the FCC with HSPA support available.
Test reports are showing that the device supports quad band GPRS and tri band HSPA connectivity, meaning it’s AT&T 4G compatible in the US. The product features WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0, plus a microSD card slot and dual cameras with 2 megapixel resolution. The device looks rather think and bulky and it has big bezels.
However, its looks can be excused with the price tag, that will probably be impressive yet again. Since this model has reached FCC for approval, could we hope for a launch wider than the Indian market? Considering the volume of units that Datawind can deliver, they might as well expand their market…
