Surprisingly enough the first proof of a real tablet running Android Ice Cream Sandwich comes from China and it’s not even a big slate maker that’s involved. The Chinese manufacturer behind the project created a dual core Tegra 2 device with 1 GB of RAM, pretty much the standard tablet, if you were to run Honeycomb.
The product is aimed at the Chinese market and lacks Google apps and even Android Market. The slate comes with 3G, Bluetooth, WiFi and GPS and it will be priced in the affordable segment, according to people familiar with it. Price and release date are unknown and TechCrunch is claiming that this is in fact a Xoom knock-off, so it can’t be that bad, can it?
