Best Buy CTO Robert Stevens recently tweeted a couple of pictures showing a mysterious tablet, that’s supposedly branded with the logo of the famous retailer. Best Buy wants a slice of the iPad’s market segment, but without the middleman manufacturer making the slate. At the moment, the company is selling brands like Insignia and Dynex, known for their low prices.

We expect the Best Buy tablet to go for $200 or so and this time, unlike Insignia and Dynex, the tablet won’t be made by a third party and repackaged by Best Buy. They really want to develop the new device internally, keeping the price down this way. The image above shows only a mere mockup of how the slate might look like.
