If you’re looking for a decent Honeycomb tablet, the Asus Eee Pad Transformer is the answer for you. It’s both cheap and performing nicely, so it’s a perfect start in the Android world. The product is now available in Target stores and online, with a price tag of $399.99.
We’re dealing with the 16GB WiFi-only version here, that runs Android 3.0 and will get the Honeycomb 3.1 update shortly. The real appealing thing about the Transformer is the accessories it comes with, including the keyboard dock that transforms it into a laptop. Also, this device is $100 cheaper than the iPad 2 and a full $200 cheaper than the Xoom.
Of course, it’s a little thicker than the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, but with this price that’s the least of your worries.
