We’ve heard a ton of rumors about the Google Nexus 7 tablet from ASUS and now we’re closer to the supposed unveiling at Google I/O 2012, that takes place next week. We’ve heard speculations about a sub $200 price tag, quad core CPU (or maybe dual core to keep the price down) and Android Jelly Bean as the OS of choice.

Now there’s a new rumor, regarding the name of the device, or better said the codename. This slate is now called the ASUS Nakasi, pretty close to the “Kai” concept, that cheap tablet idea promoted by Nvidia with a $199 price tag. So, if you plans on the 27th this month, cancel them, since that’s when Google I/O starts and will most likely include an unveiling of this product. Expectations are great, while the latest Android was already leaked as version 4.1 and the tablet also had a picture leaked last week.

I must say that the design is pretty predictable here, in line with what one would expect from ASUS and also keeping some elements of the MeMo Pad shown a while ago. The only doubt I have is whether or not the device will have a dual core or quad core CPU.
