The ASUS FonePad was one of the interesting products showcased at MWC 2013 and that exact same version came to us for testing purposes, so we’ll be preparing a review soon. In the meantime, you should know that the FonePad got a specs boost, that’s detailed below.
Originally the device had a 1.2 GHz Intel Atom Z2420 processor and 16 GB of storage and now it will come with a 1.6 GHz Z2460 CPU, 32 GB of memory with microSD expansion, just like before. The new model will be priced at about $360, reasonably affordable for a 7 inch slate that can also make calls.
The original model will still be available for $300. The product went on sale in April on retailers all over the world and it brings a 7 inch 1280 x 800 pixel display, 1 GB of RAM, HSDPA 21 Mbps connectivity, a 3.15 MP camera at the back and a 1.2 MP shooter upfront. ASUS FonePad runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and comes with a Li-Ion 4270 mAh battery.
